COVID-19 Community Standards
Every residential student has a vital role to play in reducing the spread of the novel coronavirus
(COVID-19) and keeping our campus community safe. We highly encourage all students to get
vaccinated before coming to campus. Students who are vaccinated should upload their vaccination
confirmation to the Student Health Services portal (https://studentwellness.uab.edu/login_directory.aspx).
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) says that patients with confirmed COVID-19
infection have reported mild to severe respiratory illness with symptoms of:
- Fever
- Cough
- Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
- Chills
- Repeated shaking with chills
- Muscle pain
- Headache
- Sore throat
- Loss of taste or smell
Being a Blazer means doing our part to keep our community safe by following important guidelines:
- Wear a mask/face covering if unvaccinated or in a clinical setting
- Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects
- Stay at least three (3) feet away from others
- Practice good hand hygiene, and avoid touching your face
- Cover your mouth and nose with your sleeve when you sneeze or cough
