I acknowledge that I have received, read, and understood the Town of
Norfolk (“Town”) Employee Handbook. I understand that any questions
about the handbook should be directed to my manager or Human Resources
Director.
I understand that this handbook is a statement of our present policies,
procedures, and benefits at the Town. Subject to any obligations under M.G.L.
c. 150E, I understand that this handbook and its policies may be unilaterally
changed or rescinded by the Town at any time, with or without notice. I
understand that updates to this handbook may be posted electronically and
employees will not be provided hard copies of such updates.
I understand that this handbook is prepared and disseminated solely for the
information and guidance of the employees of the Town. I understand that
this handbook is not a contract of employment and nothing in this
handbook should be construed as creating an express or implied
employment contract.
I further understand that this handbook does not change or alter my status as
an at-will employee with the Town, meaning that either the Town or I can
terminate the employment relationship at any time, for any lawful reason,
with or without cause. In addition, to the extent that there is any conflict
between the policies contained in this handbook and the provisions of any
applicable collective bargaining agreement, the collective bargaining
agreement will govern.
