Difference between Singular and plural noun –
Singular means one and plural means Many ,more ,more than one .
Most singular nouns form the plural by adding -s
Example of singular and plural noun  
Boat is singular noun and when we added end ‘s’ it has become Plural.
     Singular                                                  Plural

  1. boat                                                         boats
  2. house                                                houses
  3. cat                                                     cats
  4. river                                                rivers
  5. Book                                                       Books 



Another type of singular noun you can turn into plural noun by adding ‘ES’.
Advice- 
Those singular noun ending in s, x, z, ch, sh  you can make plural by adding -ES.  
Example of ending in S,X,Z,CH,SH singular noun and adding ‘ES plural noun.

  1. bus                                                  buses
  2. wish                                          wishes
  3. pitch                                         pitches
  4. box                                                 boxes

A singular noun ending in a consonant and then y makes the plural by dropping the y and adding-ies.

EXAMPLES of removing ‘Y’  singular noun and make plural noun by adding ‘IES’
